I met with the architect earlier this evening at his office, and we went over a couple of details on the house plans. The sketches of the new balcony that I proposed are done, and I like them.

It’s not much of a “balcony”, though. Since we’re not allowed to have any part of the house come within 2m from the perimeter of the lot, and since we don’t want to move any of the supporting columns or exterior walls anymore, the “balcony” is limited to a depth of only 70cm. It’s really more of a narrow viewing deck than it is a balcony. But the view is so nice up from that height that we figured it’s still worth the effort. One can still stand up there and have a drink in the evening.

The double sliding doors in the center will also provide a nice breeze in the bedroom at night, if we open them both and just keep the screen doors shut against the mosquitoes.
