Hi Ronne, it sounds like you guys are writing a school thesis. That’s great - good luck with your thesis. Regarding home automation, there is a lot of detailed information on the ‘net, but very little “top level” information. That’s because most people design their own, and they all tend to be different. Exactly what do you guys want to build? There are some books, such as “Linux Smart Homes for Dummies”, that might also be of help.

Hi Marisa; glad to see you here. Actually, for aluminum windows we spoke only to Duralco and Bradnams as these were the ones referred to us by others. (We also spoke to a couple of suppliers of PVC windows). We ended up with Bradnams but got such poor service we are unlikely to use them again.

Hi, I’ve been reading some of your posts. Can you tell me which aluminum window suppliers you spoke to aside from Duralco and Bradnams? You mentioned that the windows were not top of the line but had a 40% price difference? Would really appreciate information you have on the suppliers and their prices. I’m currently looking to replace my windows which are such headaches every rainy season. Thanks much!
